Eagle To Introduce Linux Set-Top
Available from BroadbandMagic.com SubsidiaryEagle Wireless International says it will base its forthcoming convergence line of multimedia set-top box products on Linux.
Eagle says it will embed the MPEG2 decoder in the device's proprietary Socket 7 compatible motherboard. It also will embed two USB ports, a 10/100 Ethernet connection, 16-bit stereo sound, advanced graphics outputs and an infrared receiver for an IR keyboard/mouse combination. The device also will have a PCI slot for expansion.
In addition, higher-end models will have video recording capabilities and stereoscopic 3D display of DVDs.
