You ought to load the package and take it for a spin. You can't beat the price, although it is a big download and will take a little time. You can even contribute to the OpenOffice.org cause, if you so desire.
I'm happy enough with the features and performance of OpenOffice.org that I have removed StarOffice 5.2 and will use OpenOffice.org 1.0 for all my business writing needs.
